So just how do you work the message formatter?

It's so simple, no one gets it xD

  1. Open up your GaiArch Preferences Window by clicking on the first button on the toolbar:  or the button at the bottom right hand corner of firefox: .

  2. When this window pops up, click on the Posting tab.

  3. Now, click on the button.

  4. Now, you should get something similar to this, with the exception of your Post Style name.

  5. Now, as the default, it won't be much, but you can too change it around.

  6. But obviously, you wanted to do something with your Message Formatter, so here we go xD  Time to change some things up, eh?  If you had some experience with Gaia's BBCode, you should have no problem with this.  For those of you who don't know what it is, well, those are those tags that you have to put around certain words of your post to make them look pretty.  And you can also add some smileys into your header/footer like the normal :ninja:/:pirate:/:whee:/etc ones from Gaia.

  7. And those of you who know BBC, you should definitely not be here anymore, because if you are, and I find out, I'll give you that O.o look with a raised eyebrow.

  8. Anyways, back on topic...See the Post Style Header box?  That's what goes on top of your post.  You can re-align the header's words/smileys/whatever you want to add in by changing the code around.  It's best to play around in a post what you want your header to look like if you're not sure of how to do that in GaiArch.

  9. Now do the same for the Post Style Footer BBCode box.  Change it around, mess with it.

  10. And then, there's your actual message you'll type in on Gaia before pressing submit. Want those to be trippy?  Good for you, the default currently has the tags "[b][center][color=darkgreen][size=9]" which will turn your text small, bold, and a darkgreen-ish color.  If you want it like that, fine.  If you want to change it around, good for you too.

  11. Now when you're done with your Post Style Beggining tags box (which is the textbox with the code for your message), just press the "Convert from beginning tags" and it will automatically help you do that.

  12. Remeber to save it!!!

  13. Press OK.

  14. Refresh your page.

  15. Go to the  box or just press the usual "Post Reply" at the thread.

  16. Type in your message and hit Submit.  Wait a bit, and voila~

Posting Fixes Tab

replaces all [code:1] and [/code:1] tags by [code] and [/code] tags when the page loads, not when you hit Obsolete.

replaces all backslashes by escaped backslashes ( \\ ), which, once parsed by Gaia, will be treated as a single backslash. That was confusing, wasn't it ? ^^;; All you have to know is that backslashes you put in your posts won't be eaten by Gaia. This modification is done when you hit .

will insert Gaia's emotes (From the left, classic panel) at the cursor's current position instead of the end of your message. If you haven't touched the text box yet, the emotes will simply be added at the end.

replaces all emotes by their URL, bracketted by [img] tags.  Please note that this modification is applied when you hit , that's why you can still see standard emotes when you insert them.

will reset the post timer when you hit

is another obsolete option that would have fixed the ampersands.

Emoticons

Refer to the Emoticon's own help section in the "Emoticon" tab of smiley management.

URL Shortening

Refer to the "URL Shortening" tab for more information on shortening URLS.

Tips

Why is Firefox so slow?

Most of the time, this is not because of GaiArch. If you really think it is, try unchecking some checkboxes in the "Layout Changes" tab. If if it still slow, try unchecking some in the "Posting" tab. To get rid of all page modifications without losing your preferences, check the

checkbox below. Use this only as a last resort and remember to restart Firefox or else page modifications will still be applied.

How many emotes/logos/post styles can I add?

As many as you want ! ^-^

This page was created using slave labour.  There was no harming of people xD Whoopee!
